Weekend To-Do List

August 26, 2011

Tonight: Anyone able to venture beyond the tunnel should definitely check out the first-ever showing of rock photographs taken by Alamo mom and total character Donna Paula. Her exhibit “A Fan’s Point of View” will be up tonight at the Round Hill Country Club from 6-9 and will feature amazing poster-sized prints of 70s legends like Marley, Hendrix, Bowie, Mercury, Dylan, Jagger… you name it, she was there- and her stories alone are worth going for. Hella good music, slideshow, and full bar will be accompanying. For more info, check out this great article in Diablo Magazine.

Tomorrow: UNIFYSOUND + Sick, Sad World Present: An Education at the Oakland Metro Operahouse. The whole gaggle of BAB-loved DJs will be joining local acts like Twin Steps for a filthy/gorgeous night of what the Metro does best. 8pm, $5 before 11… goes late, duh.

Sunday: Chill out and stock up for the coming week at the SF Swappers’ August Food Swap. RSVP in advance to secure your spot, bring some brunch-type potluck offerings to share, as well as 5 to 10 items to exchange. I have a couple jars of homemade jam and bushels of ripening tomatoes in mind…. 1-3 pm in the Mission, FREE
