Happy Catchy Friday Music: Small Black

November 5, 2010
by

On Saturday Brooklyn-based Small Black will be bringing their polyrhythms, their reverb and their distorted, breathy vocals to the Independent. With bright keys that teeter and totter and evoke wind chimes and dry Santa Ana winds and dramatic layering that stands firmly on the fence between catchy and dreamy, Small Black are absolutely deserving of the Indie’s sparkling sound system.

With their purposefully undone electropop, Small Black will elicit your hand claps and your rapt attention. Recommended for fans of Neon Indian and Washed Out.

Class Actress and Young Prisms opening. Show at 9, 21, $14 at the door, $12 in advance.
