Happy Catchy Friday Music: Hooray for Earth

October 1, 2010
by

For reasons I can’t quite put my finger on, Hooray for Earth totally brings me back to my high school days. Maybe it’s the Weezer-esque distortion on “Comfortable, Comparable”. Maybe it’s the sing-along vibe on “Surrounded by Your Friends” that recalls busting out some Rilo Kiley or Nada Surf in the car while ditching school …surrounded by your friends. Maybe I’ve just got a wicked case of the nostalgies.

Either way, if you’re into high-spirited vocal harmonies or snappy electro-pop, you should probably go see Hooray for Earth withJukebox the Ghost and local favorites AB & the Sea at Bottom of the Hill on Saturday. Show at 10, $10, all ages.
