This past weekend we got to check out the green-centric Beehive Market in North Berkeley, which takes place every Saturday from 10 to 3 in the tree lined parking lot of the Berkeley Adult School. Highlights include a DIY vermipost booth, fresh dripped Kona coffee for $2 a cup from Temple Bar, ginger carrot and nectarine habanero ice cream from Scream Sorbet, and to-die-for grilled peaches and panini from Boffo Cart. Although we were bummed to miss Grand Lake, who went MIA, we were impressed with the small boutique blend of green lifestyle vendors and see great potential for this little event. We will certainly be back in the near future to enjoy some fresh coffee and the crisp fall air while catching other great local music acts like Social Studies and Man/Miracle (both playing in October). For a list of vendors and calendar of events -such as guinea pig adoption day!- click here.
