HCFM: Owl City

Owl City is basically synth-pop for the Jack Johnson/Jason Mraz set. Not that I necessarily have anything against Jack Johnson, but you get what I’m saying. Anyways, Adam Young – the man behind the moniker – has three things working for him that his tourmate John Mayer, simply does not.
1) sparkling synths in sweet melody
2) auto-tune that doesn’t make you want to tear your hair out
3) he was never a d-bag in an interview with playboy magazine

If those three strike your fancy, check out Owl City Monday and Tuesday at the Fillmore. He’ll be performing sans-tourmate (and apparently sans-opener) at 6:30 both evenings. All ages, $20.
