Cinema by the Bay, Opening Party

October 27, 2009

A couple weeks ago I wrote about the Cinema by the Bay film festival, and last Thursday night I had the lucky chance to attend the festival’s opening celebrations held at the eco-friendly hot spot, Temple Nightclub.

I’d just like to give a big thank you to Bill and Cori and everyone else who made the night a success! The club was beautiful, the crowd was varied and engaging, and the diverse array of performances offered something for everyone. I was bummed to leave early, but what can you do when hunger strikes? Before we left, though, we had the chance to learn about some very eye-opening Hidden Realities in the old-school game of Asteroids as well as see some awesome animated shorts (Wholphin, I believe?) that really made me nostalgic for the bizarre MTV cartoons of a decade past.

Overall, it was a great night and I was stoked to see so many people out in support of our local cinematic community. Not sure what the “oracle” outside was all about though….
