Happy Catchy Friday Music: John Vanderslice

January 30, 2009

Tonight, at the Great American Music Hall, local folk hero John Vanderslice will be celebrating the success of the San Francisco indie recording studio Tiny Telephone that he himself founded 10 years ago. Never heard of it? Bands who have recorded there include Death Cab for Cutie, Spoon, Nada Surf and tons of others. So, congrats, Johnny! He’ll be accompanied by the studio’s Magik*Magik Orchestra. I just might have to go for that rad poster… oh yah, and Aesop Rock DJ’ing both before and after. Great article by the Bay Bridged’s Ben Van Houten over at KQED Arts.
