Feel Cultured, Stay Broke:

November 14, 2008

Just read about the upcoming show ‘Collapsitalism’ at Johansson Projects over at More Ways to Waste Time. Ha- gotta love the name. I guess it takes a real recession to make affordability worthy of topical chicness?

Johansson Projects was by far my favorite gallery that I went to during the Oakland Art Murmur events, and I look forward to scoffing at the still-too-high prices of the ‘affordable art’ – all priced under $500. Christmas ‘you wish!’ list, much?

Check out the show’s flickr stream to see what will be featured during this lovely holiday recession sale! Opening reception is tomorrow and the show lasts ’til January 2nd. If you go before December 13th you can catch the show alongside the equally interesting looking Tickling Thicket.

Hey, at least it doesn’t cost anything to visit the gallery. And you know what’s also free? Pretending to have money!
