Noisepop 2008

February 12, 2008

February is not only the time for loving or hating coupledom, but also San Francisco’s music festival Noispop! Since I have not been able to enjoy Noisepop for the past few years due to living in SoCal, I’m excited to finally be ‘local’ enough to see how it works. Lots of awesome small venues, tons of cool little bands… As taken straight from Noisepop.com:

The Noise Pop Festival returns in 2008 from February 26 to March 2. Every year, Noise Pop takes over the best-loved venues in San Francisco for six nights to host unforgettable performances by nationally-known indie rock, electronic, punk and cutting edge musical artists teamed up with the best local bands, transforming the city into an almost week-long celebration of the finest that the underground and not-so-underground has to offer.

And not only will the festival feature bands, but also art exhibits and film showings- for the well-rounded artistic palate. Sound interesting? Click here for a complete schedule of events: http://noisepop.com/2008/schedule.php

Among my top picks to attend:The Mountain Goats (Bimbos, 7pm/8pm $18 18+), Cursive (Great American Music Hall 7:30pm/8Pm $18 all ages) and She & Him (featuring Zooey Deschanel and M Ward) with Adam Stephens (of Two Gallants), at Great American Music Hall, 7pm/8pm $18/$20 all ages .

But the all-time can’t-miss of ’08?

(left) M.Ward and Zooey Deschanel, both gorgeously talented and talentedly gorgeous.

Also, Mr. Love has made an excellent contribution to the world of concert-scouting, found in the form of THE LIST– search by venue, date, band, or even TV/radio ratings. Quite overwhelming, quite awesome. If you hadn’t checked it out already from his previous comment, check it out now. ❤
